          :  1.0 gm,. Solution in 10 ml. water is Clear. 

4.      SPECIFIC ROTATION  (At 20°C of 1% Sol. in water)

          : Bet. + 84.0° to 87.5° on Anhy. Basis.

5.      WATER CONTENT (BY KF)

          : Max. 2.0%

6.      pH  (2.0 gm., in 20 ml. Water.)

          : 3.0 to 6.0

7.      HEAVY METALS: NMT 0.001%   (10 ppm)

8.      ARSENIC  (as As₂O₃) : NMT 0.0004%  (4 ppm)

9.      RESIDUE ON IGNITION  (Sulphated Ash)
